PTSD usually does not begin to surface until about 3-6 months after a soldier returns home from being deployed. A lot of times it is hard to identify that what is happening is PTSD. Although it is becoming more readily identifiable, plenty of veterans get misdiagnosed which causes a delay in actually getting the help needed. A wide range of physical symptoms, sleeping problems, memory problems, hypersensitivity, mood swings, addiction, anxiety and feeling isolated are some of the many symptoms of PTSD. With counseling, medical treatment and a support system, veterans can usually make a complete recovery. Let TalkingStick be a part of that support.
